Aatif Alshahri has been general manager of financial affairs at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu since February 2018.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry, project management, business analysis, financial planning, strategic planning, working capital management, process improvement, as well as budgeting and forecasting.
He has excelled in driving teams through the development and implementation of strategic financial procedures and leadership, while establishing effective operational processes and structures to propel business success.
Alshahri has also been a member of the audit committee at Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities Services Co., or Jabeen, since January 2022. He also served as chief financial officer at Jabeen from December 2018 to November 2023.
Before that, Alshahri was financial controller at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu from June 2005 to February 2018. He managed all accounting operations in his role.
From September 2003 to August 2005, he was head of the investigation department at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
Alshahri also served as a financial consultant at the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery from December 2011 to December 2014.
He worked as an accountant at Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi & Co., Ltd. from November 2001 to September 2003.
His areas of expertise include financial management, profitability, financial planning and analysis, private equity, financial reporting, general accounting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, and insurance.
Alshahri believes that learning and teamwork are the keys to success. A successful manager should always keep developing himself as well as his team in order to achieve organizational goals and continually gain new knowledge for all staff, he says.
He completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University in Riyadh.
